Wednesday class is: PUP/BEGINNER from 6:30pm to 7:30pm
starting September 29, 2021 and go thru ~ November 17, 2021
Saturday classes are: PUP/BEGINNER from 5pm to 6pm
BASIC from 6:30pm to 7:30pm
starting October 2, 2021 and will go thru ~ November 20, 2021
All classes are held outdoors and will run for 8 weeks.
If the class is canceled due to rain or other factors, it will be made up the following week.
Proof of vaccinations prior to first class is required.
Pre-registration for each class is required.
Advance class requires an pre-class interview with Debbie, your dog and yourself to see if class is right for you.
Full payment due at registration or before the start of the first class. Cost of class is $125 for the 8 week session.
Private lessons are available; dates and times to be determined on an individual basis. Cost of a 1 hour private lesson is $60.
Class descriptions:
Pup/beginner: for puppies and dogs from 4 months and older with no prior training. Will cover basic commands (sit, down, stay, come, off, etc). Heeling on lead. Canine health, nutrition, and grooming. Problem solving Socialization with others
Basic: for dogs and owners who have had pup/beginner course or have trained dogs before. Review and refine prior commands. Performance with minimal distractions. Reinforce "stay" commands. Problem solving.
Advanced: for dogs and owners who have passed basic. Review and refine prior commands. Performance with major distractions. Off lead heeling techniques. Prep work for Obedience trials.

Dog Training Workshops are geared towards puppy owners as well as new dog owners. These workshops are open to everyone regardless of their training experience or age of dog.
Workshop class size will be limited so arrive 15 minutes early to ensure your spot in the workshop

Fun with obedience

Step 3: Keeping a tight hold of dog with left hand, use the right hand, palm facing dog and say "STAY"

Step 4: Keeping your left foot in place, step off with your right foot and step directly in front of your dog. Repeat the word "STAY" Stand directly in front of your dog for a silent count of 5, then return to the dog's right side. If you dog gets up at any point, place them back into the sit position and try again. This takes time, so don't rush it.

Step 5: When you can stand in front of your dog for a silent count to 30 and your dog does not get up. Next time, repeat the word "STAY" and take one step backwards. Hold this position for a silent count to 5 then return to your dog. Repeat this step until you reach a count of 30 and then take another step backwards. Remember to repeat the command "STAY"
